Domain Email
In its simplest form Comstar’s email services allow you to have email at the same domain as your website. While this seems to be a no-brainer, some web hosting providers do not offer this important option. If you have a business card with your website listed, you should have your name at your domain, not your name at aol.com or hotmail.com. If you are going to promote your business, promote your business.

Each of our hosting packages includes a specified number of email accounts. Additional email accounts are available a la carte. Mailbox quotas are flexible, with most users needing between 10 and 25 MB of space in their account. You have the option to increase that space to 50 MB or 100 MB for each account in your domain. If you have high volume requirements, space up to 5 GB per mailbox can be set up.

You can manage your email through any email client such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Communicator, and others. You can also manage your email through a web interface. This way even if you are away from your own computer, you can always send and receive email through any internet connection. You can stay connected to your email no matter where you go!

List Server
Another basic email service is that of a list server. List servers allow you to manage a list of email recipients. Recipients can be allowed to subscribe and unsubscribe themselves or you can manage the list completely. Any message sent to the list will be distributed to all addresses on the list. This can be configured so that only you or other authorized persons can send mail to the list, or it can be configured so that any member of the list can mail to the list. The list server is flexible to meet your needs.

Email Filtering
In today’s virus-laden and prolific spamming environment, email filtering has become a necessity. A good, reliable, filtering system is needed to reduce the clutter so that you can spend your time reading the email you want, rather than the bulk that you do not.

Comstar has implemented the Postini filtering system which has been recognized as a leading filtering solution. Postini email filtering provides an individually configurable message center. This means that you can set your filters to meet your needs. In several different spam categories you can select filtering from lenient to aggressive. You can also create your own white-list of always approved addresses, and black-list of always blocked addresses. Mail that is blocked is held in quarantine for 14 days giving you the opportunity to make sure it’s not blocking desirable email. Viruses definitions are updated within minutes of their creation. This helps assure that your incoming email is virus-free.
